Demetrios Jameson 1919 - 1996

A longtime faculty member at Oregon State University, as well as a father, friend and husband in Corvallis, Demetrios taught at the Museum Art School in Portland and represented a later period of Oregon Modernism.

He studied with
Max Beckmann at Washington University, in St. Louis after Beckmann fled Nazi Germany, and Demetrios' work strongly reflects German Expressionism.

Demetrios was in the custom of sketching where ever he went, on napkins, receipts, on anything at hand. He after donated this work to whomever shared his company, regularly the poet Roger Weaver.
