| "I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth" - Steve McQueen. The late actor, Steve McQueen (a pall bearer, incidentally, at the funeral of his famous martial arts instructor Bruce Lee), married 'Barbara Minty', a model from Corvallis. He later died from asbestos-related lung cancer. His ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean, alongside those of Janis Joplin and Bud Abbott (of Abbott and Costello).
